Our Work

Enhancing School Visibility and Brand Consistency for Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust

Client
Overview

Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust, within the Diocese of Salford, is set to oversee 70 schools by 2030. They sought a signage and graphics partner to elevate the visibility of the Emmaus name while ensuring consistent design and high-quality branding across their educational community.

Project Background

Our partnership with Emmaus began with two key projects: St Mary’s R.C. Primary School in Stockport and St Francis R.C. Primary School in Gorton. These projects were the first steps in bringing the Emmaus brand to life across their schools.

Project 1:
St Mary’s R.C. Primary School

St Mary’s required a straightforward solution to enhance the visibility of their entrance and incorporate the new Emmaus CAT branding. Given the site’s challenging entrance location and the absence of any Emmaus branding, we proposed a cost-effective solution. By repurposing a well-fixed existing signpost, we replaced the outdated signage with an updated design that prominently featured the new logo and Emmaus branding. This approach successfully met all project objectives, improving the site’s visibility and brand presence.

Project 2:
St Francis R.C. Primary School

The project at St Francis was more comprehensive, requiring a complete rebranding from logo design to finished signage. The school initiated a logo design competition among the upper-year pupils, and the winning designs were amalgamated and digitized into a full brand book. This brand book was then used across various applications, including letterheads, websites, uniforms, and, crucially, the new signage.

Signage Challenges and Solutions

The signage installation presented unique challenges. The school’s location, set far back from the main road, necessitated the main sign to be installed at a height of 3.5 meters to ensure visibility and clear the border fencing line. Additionally, one sign had to be installed into artificial grass without causing any damage or loose areas of turf. Another existing wall-fixed sign needed to be removed, with the area repaired before installing the new signage. Despite these challenges, the project was completed within a tight two-week timeframe, coinciding with the Easter holidays to minimize disruption.

Client response

“The team at SPI couldn't have done more for us. They seamlessly collaborated with various teams, including pupils, the central Emmaus CAT management, site managers, and senior educators. The completed works are exceptional, and we can’t wait to work with SPI again. We would recommend them without hesitation.”

Conclusion

Our collaboration with Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust has been a rewarding experience. We are excited to continue building our relationship and look forward to future projects that further enhance their brand visibility and consistency across all their schools.
